Why Go-Safely appeals most to the middle ages

Hope no-one is offended to be called middle aged, especially if you're in your forties and even more especially because much of our b2c business comes from this age group. For two main reasons: being a parent (Go-Safely Gap Year) and being a child (Go-Safely Parents).

Parents of teens about to set off around the world don't want to be too demanding but also need to know that everything's good with their adventurous offspring. They don't necessarily want to called up in the middle of the night to receive confirmation that the plane arrived safely in Bangkok. But, when they get up in the morning, it would be nice to know that because there was no call at all, they can be sure as sure, that everything's well.

As middle aged children they have a need upwards as well as downwards of their own age group. Baby boomers - all fit and well, healthy in person and in pension, are travelling in unprecedented numbers, and for all the same reasons as above, Go-Safely.com fits the bill.

To refer or not refer, a profitable question?

I’m feeling a bit two-faced. Across our ten years of service we have regularly and periodically offered to reward anyone who refers our service to others and so bring us new customers. Our latest referral scheme actually rewards both the referrer and the referral (i.e. new customer), we think this is great, it means there’s something in it for everyone.

But isn’t the truth that you refer who you like and trust anyway? I do. If I find anyone good I just can’t wait to tell everyone I know. It gives me a really nice feeling to know I’ve helped a friend or colleague by promising them details of ‘a really good...’ and then promptly emailing them on. Equally recommendations from people I like and respect mean a lot, I don’t think I could recommend a company or tradesperson just because there was something in it for me if I didn’t think they would do a great job, after all it would reflect on me wouldn’t it if they didn’t?

Much of our new business – I’m delighted to say – comes from recommendations, mostly from existing customers and sometimes from old ones or just people who like what we’re about, naturally we’d like more, so how do we get it? Will our latest referral scheme promotion work? Or am I best just to say, if you think we’re good at what we do, please can you tell as many people as possible? We’d really appreciate it.

Two rings

Remember when you used to give ‘two rings’ to let someone know you were home safe? No? Just me? Well in our house, to save the cost of a telephone call, you’d await or deliver the ‘two rings’ to say all was well. Two rings and hang up, that was all it took to offer or receive peace of mind about the safety of a loved one. Nowadays we’d probably just send a text or make that call. Easy when it’s a friend or family member, but who is looking after colleagues and business associates, employees and small business owners?

It was a good question until Go-Safely turned up.

Devised from a very manual process of a secretary filling in a diary and scheduling a reminder to check that her ‘senior manager’ charge was where he was intended to be and then having to call him up to check when he forgot to let her know, Go-Safely is a diary and reminder platform that enables lone-workers and people on the move to enter their whereabouts and customise reminders. All the member has to do is text confirmation of arrival to the system which will issue text reminders should the member not check in on time. Meetings can easily be delayed if need be, but if the member doesn’t confirm after a third text, our Go-Safely team is on hand to reassure that there is no problem. If things still don’t look good, only at that point is the member’s employer informed and the situation escalated according to client wishes.

Simple. Easy. Effective. Check it out.
